11.01.2008 | Yamagata Europe expands into Central Europe

Yamagata Europe, a translation and localisation service provider, will set up a new office in Bratislava, Slovakia in March 2008. The Bratislava office will provide additional translation quality assurance and DTP capacity for the Belgium office. To further strengthen its presence in the region, the Yamagata Corporation also plans to establish a printing factory in Slovakia.

Yamagata Europe is proud to announce the release of version 6.0 of QA Distiller™, its translation quality assurance tool. The new version introduces a built-in TMX editor and several new QA checks. Any translation memory exported in TMX format can now be edited directly in QA Distiller. New features include a source language inconsistency check and an enhanced brackets and quotation marks check.

Flanders District of Creativity is the Flemish organization for more entrepreneurial creativity. Flanders DC, founded as an NPO by the Flemish Government, is a widely supported organisation in which Flemish business, academia and public institutions cooperate to build a more creative region - because creativity helps companies compete better and governments of creative regions ensure a healthy economy and job creation. De Flanders DC Fellows are 50 creative Flemish entrepreneurs who will act as ambassadors for the promotion of entrepreneurial creativity. Ycomm Europe proudly announces the release of QA Distiller™ 5.0. In this new version, the number of formal errors that the tool can automatically recognise in technical translations is greatly expanded. In addition, new functionalities have been added for configuring the user interface and changing the language settings. Through the implementation of “regular expressions”, the number of incorrectly generated error messages has been significantly reduced. Furthermore, a handy search engine and a spelling checker have been built in.

A reception for clients and suppliers is held in the foyer of the Sint Niklaas City Theatre (Stadsschouwburg) on 2 December to herald this event. The change of name, which brings various sister companies in Europe, South-East Asia, China and the United States under a single banner, corresponds, not coincidentally, with the hundredth anniversary of the Japanese mother company.
