SimDesign
The word SimShip (simultaneous shipment) refers to the release of localised versions of software and
other products at the same time as the original release. Major manufacturers and publishers can release as many as
30 different localised versions within a month or two of the original version. These products may have thousands
of pages of documentation.
Simultaneous shipment requires a reliable workflow without surprises at the end. This means that our layout team is trained to create translation-and-print-friendly files and designs. Most layout specialists know
how to make a file print-friendly. Few among them, however, understand the translation process well enough to provide
translation-ready files. Successful integration of translation and layout knowledge can make the difference in your supply chain.
In many cases, “SimShip” also demands “SimDesign”, meaning that the original design of the documentation is strictly respected in
the localised version. SimDesign demands a one-to-one layout in style and content (page 365 in Polish must have the same content
as page 365 in English). Automating this process is one of the major tasks of the DTP team at Yamagata Europe.
Effective communication by design
Give us the parameters, design elements - even examples of what you like - and we will create a visually pleasing
endproduct that communicates graphically and effectively while complementing the product it supports.
Product illustrators bring the product to life using both technical line drawings and dimensional illustrations to capture
a product's essence and demonstrate written instructions. Graphic designers work to translate corporate and product
positioning into designs that offer longevity by developing templates, style sheets and design elements that can be used
across a product line or category.
Virtual Reality Products
Bringing a product to life while it is still under development can be very helpful. Demonstration and education for sales people, dealers and other partners prior to the product launch help ensure a smooth introduction of the product. Post-launch, web-based virtual presentation of product features and instructions greatly improves customer service and reduces the need for live technical support. Yamagata delivers photo-realistic product renderings, which are then animated and made interactive to respond just like the real thing.
